Submissions from organizations in the following categories will be considered:

  • Addiction and Substance Abuse
  • Arts
  • Children, Youth and Family
  • Community and Social Services
  • Criminal Justice
  • Culture and Heritage
  • Disabilities
  • Education
  • Environmental/Animals
  • Health and Diseases
  • Human Rights and Civil Liberties
  • International Directories and Resources for Not For Profits
  • International Relief/Development/Peace
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered (LGBT)
  • Poverty/Social Justice
  • Professional Associations
  • Public/Society Benefit
  • Religion Related
  • Research and Policy Development
  • Seniors
  • Service Clubs
  • Special Interests
  • Sports and Recreation
  • Volunteer Centres/Bureaux

Who's Not Eligible?

You are not eligible for a Helping Hands Grant if your organization is in one of the following categories:

  • for-profit
  • federal, provincial, regional, municipal or other local government
  • penal institution or correction centre
  • does not comply with all laws, regulations and policies of Canada
  • has programs that promote hate, racial or ethnic superiority, religious intolerance, persecution or social change through unlawful action
